The Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2020 show featured an apocalyptic, flooded catwalk in a pitch-black Paris studio to critique climate change. Models in heavy rubber boots and dark, neo-gothic clothes waded through murky water beneath giant LED screens projecting eclipses and boiling lava. The ominous set even submerged the first three rows of guest seats, forcing onlookers back.
